Twidge is a command line Twitter desktop client for Ubuntu/Linux. Twidge supports posting updates, reading replies, adding more friends etc and its integration with the Unix shell scripting environment is just superb. Twidge is so easy to use and obviously light weight which makes it even more adorable. Lets take a peek into the Twidge features and installation.

Mirage is a Banshee plugin which can automatically add acoustically similar songs to the ones you have already added. This is a very useful plugin if you are an avid banshee user. After some 6 months of hard work by Banshee developers, Banshee 1.5 has been released. But it is not yet available in the official Ubuntu repo. Here is how you could upgrade your existing Banshee 1.4 to all new Banshee 1.5 in Ubuntu.

Yet another major Ubuntu release is on the anvil. It is called Ubuntu 9.10 codenamed Karmic Koala. There is nothing really to get excited about this new release to be frank. And probably no major changes to the user interface. Canonical had promised major changes to the UI for Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy Heron, but even after two more major releases now, no upgrades have shown up yet. Ubuntu Artwork team finally starts delivering. Although Ubuntu have been the most popular distro for a pretty long time now, it really need to put in a lot of work on enhancing look and feel. Though a number of high quality third party themes are available like the bisigi-project, one thing where Ubuntu lacked was the absence of good quality themes by default. That is all going to change now.
