Twidge is a command line Twitter desktop client for Ubuntu/Linux. Twidge supports posting updates, reading replies, adding more friends etc and its integration with the Unix shell scripting environment is just superb. Twidge is so easy to use and obviously light weight which makes it even more adorable. Lets take a peek into the Twidge features and installation.

Mirage is a Banshee plugin which can automatically add acoustically similar songs to the ones you have already added. This is a very useful plugin if you are an avid banshee user. All you need to do is, add the kind of song you want to play into the special playlist and this playlist will automagically generate similar sounding songs. Let's give it a ride. Before that, may be you want to install the latest banshee release in your Ubuntu  as well.

After some 6 months of hard work by Banshee developers, Banshee 1.5 has been released. But it is not yet available in the official Ubuntu repo. Here is how you could upgrade your existing Banshee 1.4 to all new Banshee 1.5 in Ubuntu.

Wine 1.1.29 is the latest release from WineHQ's stable. Chromium Web Browser( Google Chrome for Linux ie ) has already won a lot of accolades among Ubuntu/Linux users and we have already seen how easy it is to install chromium web browser in Ubuntu. I am so impressed with this new chromium web browser, that i may even use it as my regular browser. Flash support is not available by default, but by a little bit of tweaking, you can enable it too. Here is how.

We have tested Chromium Web Browser in Ubuntu before and it was a huge disappointment. I was not even able to maximise the window while using Chromium . I think that was a few months ago and after reading some encouraging reviews elsewhere, i decided to give google chrome another try in my Ubuntu machine. I was in for a huge surprise.

Pidgin 2.6.1 is released. Pidgin is the default IM Client for Ubuntu for a pretty long time now. And Pidgin went through a number of upgrades. But this time it is different. Pidgin brings in the much awaited Voice and Video support for XMPP and are hoping to get these killer features to other protocols as well.
