Gwibber 3.1 for Ubuntu
Gwibber 3.1 has been released. For those of you who are new to the scene. Gwibber is an open source micro blogging client. Even though it is feature rich and has inteegrates well with many popular social networking sites, Gwibber failed to catch on as it needed a lot of juice to keep it running.
However the new Gwibber that will find its way into the Ubuntu 11.10 will be redesigned and reworked to provide a whole new experience in Social networking. The software has bid goodbye to the old Python and Webkit interface and it rings in the new Vala and GTK3 interface. The resulting Gwibber 3.1 is faster, more responsive and much more resource efficient.

Gwibber 3.1 uses only 40 % of RAM memory used by its predecessors and also provides a smaller loading time. The User Interface has also received a major facelift and the new look seems very promising.

Gwibber 3.1 sorts network feeds and streams in Oldest/Newest feed first manner as and how the users like it to be and also has a smooth and efficient search bar. It is heard that as soon as the Google + hits out in full strength Gwibber will allow integration of Google + also in its arsenal.
Gwibber 3.1 also has a new user interface designed by Neil Patel. The new UI uses plenty of animations to make Gwibber comparable to the other Twitter clients available for Mac OS X and Windows. It also supports sorting of streams according to the oldest/newest post.
However the final verdict can be given only when the fully loaded version of Gwibber 3.1 is launched along with Ubuntu 11.10.
